Wildlife species like the desert tortoise are protected and should not be bothered in any way. This one needed assistance getting across a busy road; but generally, leave them be and take a nice photo for your scrapbook. Taking care of our resources will mean they'll be around in the future for us to enjoy. Hunting is a whole different story, as is fishing, both of which I love to do.
